Introduction.....

Since i am still looking and nutting out ideas for a portfolio layout, i thought i better do something else towards my portfolio, an introduction animation. I think that if i did an introduction animation, it might give me some more ideas for a layout (i hope it does) So far i have about 10-15 seconds made and i have been told that it looks similar to The Knife - we share our mothers health video clip, which is funny becuase i watched it not too long before i started working on it, and i watch it now and am shocked to see how similar the ideas are. Although i had the colour scheme befor i watched it. Although i hope it will not be as creepy. I want the introduction to pave the way for my portfolio, so at the same time, i want to create a 'wicked-sick' intro animation, but i dont not want it to be the 'be all and end all' of the portfolio, meaning i dont not want it to be the highlight of it.
Here are some screen shots of what i have done so far:

Obviously there is a bit more to the animation than what these images portray these are just samples of what the theme looks like. Stay posted from some more in the future and possibly a sample version....of you can do that
I would also like to thank a|A for providing the song to be used in this animation...

Looking sexy.

Just curious about what mediums you are wanting to publish on? I remember you saying something about just CD?

Anthony and I were having a chat the other night and thought that it would be REALLY cool if you were able to come up with an entire portfolio package, not just a cd.

So at the end of semester you'd come away with a portfolio website, portfolio cd and a print portfolio - the entire package.

Also, (if you choose to make it) the online portfolio would rule the universe if it was dynamic with an administrator backend. This would allow you to add in new art work as you make it.

If you choose to go this route I believe that Anthony has said that he would be willing to give you a hand with some of the dynamic flash stuff. I would also be willing to give you a hand with the backend system. Making a backend would only take me around 2 minutes - then you can have the option of prettying it up and whatever.

I think that it would be a lot more work for you but the end result is going to be so much greater. Remember, there are going to be industry people on exhibition day - and I think that a complete package will sell yourself a whole lot better. But it's still your choice.

You wouldn't even need a backend. Flash is wonderful like that. Using something like colfusion/php you can do flash related stuff, combined with javascript you can use something like Lightbox for images.

But flash is great in the way that it Doesn't *need* a backend. For example, look at my 2003 website : http://members.optusnet.com.au/tomgupper/ ( if it doesn't load, just press refresh ).

Now, Stop the annoying music, click on "Experiment" then click on "Flash Experiments" On the far right side is my version 1 dynamic loader. Press the arrows to scroll through it.

All you need to make something like that is the flash file, a .txt file and a directory of images.

Copy the images into the folder, edit the .txt file with the new definition and modify a variable in the txt file which gives the # of pictures in the gallery. And voila, it adds another element to the gallery. Very handy.

As I said I made that in 2003, so it's quite out of date, and I've worked on it since - but I'm more than willing to help should you decide to do a flash website version.

And yes, Doing an entire package would be rad.
